In Restaurants oder Großküchen erzeugen Lebensmittel, die gekocht werden, Fett, Umweltverschmutzung und unangenehme Gerüche. Im Inneren der Haube oder des Saugsystems eingesetzt, trägt UV-SMELL wesentlich dazu bei, diese Nachteile zu minimieren. Die beim Kochen entstehenden Fette, komplexe Ketten, die hauptsächlich aus Kohlenstoff und Wasserstoff bestehen, absorbieren die intensive Energie, wenn sie intensiver UV-C-Strahlung ausgesetzt sind. Die Moleküle werden reaktiver, weil sie in einen höheren Energiezustand versetzt werden und sich mit dem in der Luft vorhandenen Sauerstoff rekombinieren, was zu einer sogenannten „kalten Verbrennung“ führt.
This reaction results in simple, odorless, and gaseous organic products such as carbon dioxide (CO2) and water, which are easily disposed of in the air. For these reasons, filtering the air with UV-SMELL during normal cooking significantly reduces the formation of grease deposits and therefore the risk of fire, and limits the growth of molds that feed on the fats themselves.
UV-SMELL offers the possibility to work safely and also avoids the formation of unpleasant odors by reducing the need for continuous cleaning and maintenance of the suction system and prolonging the life of the filters in the hoods and their suction power. UV-SMELL uses UV-C amalgam emitting bulbs +O3 (ozone). Compared to normal mercury vapor low-pressure UV-C lamps, this type of lamp contains a special metal "amalgam" that optimizes germicidal UV performance. The amalgam system makes it possible to achieve three times the UV-C emissions compared to normal UV lamps and a lamp life (up to 16,000 operating hours) for the same length, thus saving operating costs.
Ozone is a gas that remains in the air for a few seconds and can prolong the UV-C effects to maximize the performance of the system before it is converted to oxygen.

The airflow is then sucked through the lamp network, which is arranged in a stainless steel frame made of AISI 304.
The supply box with the power supplies is also equipped with an LED overview panel, a convenient digital hour meter, and a fault indicator.
The module is designed to also include a TIOX® honeycomb filter, Original Light Progress (optional), coated with a special nanostructured titanium dioxide paint and silver salts, an excellent photocatalyst capable of breaking down many organic and inorganic pollutants (VOC, VOC volatile organic compounds and NOx, nitrogen oxides).
The TIOX®, in combination with the very high UVC output of the Light Progress lamps, further oxidizes the pollutant particles, contributing to the success of the deodorization measure.
The special materials used for UV-SMELL-SQ guarantee waterproofness (IP 55), resistance to high temperatures (45/50°C), and grease.

UV-STYLO-S
After drilling a hole in the suction duct and inserting the UV-C piston of the UV-STYLO-S into it, simply attach the stainless steel flange of the unit to the outside of the duct wall with 3 self-tapping screws.
