UV-C STERILIZATION / UV-C DISINFECTION
UV-C light has various advantages over conventional methods to eliminate bacteria, germs and viruses.

UV-C IN THE INDUSTRY
UV-C radiation has become indispensable in industry. It is used in medicine, pharmaceuticals, food production and water treatment. Furthermore, the disinfection of air conditioning systems and the reduction of odor and grease in industrial kitchens with UV-C light is environmentally friendly, durable and cost-saving.
UV-C STERILIZATION / UV-C DISINFECTION
Especially the UV-C rays have a strong germicidal effect. The greatest efficiency is at a wavelength of 253.7 nm. The UV-C light is therefore used for targeted damage or killing of microorganisms (such as bacteria/viruses, yeasts and moulds).
The UV rays are for example also contained in sunlight and were already used in ancient times because of their germicidal effect. The germicidal effect of UV-C radiation extends from bacteria and viruses to spores, fungi, mold and mites.
Due to the destructive effect of UV-C radiation, which cleaves DNA/RNA, the proliferation and survival of cells is blocked.
WHAT ARE UV-RAYS?
Light in the broader sense can be divided into visible, infrared and ultraviolet radiation. Ultraviolet radiation (invisible) can be classified into:
- UV - A (with tanning properties)
- UV - B (with therapeutic properties)
- UV - C (germicidal properties)
UV - VUV (ozone formation)
The germicidal effect of UV-C radiation destroys the DNA of bacteria, viruses, spores, fungi, moulds and mites and prevents their growth and reproduction.
The UV-C technology is a physical disinfection method with a high cost-benefit ratio, it is ecological and works contrary to chemicals against all micro organisms, without producing resistances.
UV-C RADIATION DESTROYS THE BOND IN THE DNA/RNA
Ultraviolet radiation is used to treat water, air and surfaces. Due to the extraordinary speed of the reactions - MikrobeMicrobes are inactivated with sufficient dose in fractions of a second - are used UV C emitters not only for the disinfection of surfaces, but also for the disinfection of water, air or even in air ducts led air flows.
Already before the development of laminar flow systems for pure areas were usual in hospitals in continuous operation working ultraviolet emitters, in order to keep the germ number small. The increasing antibiotic resistance of hospital-specific germs provides for the return of the well-known UV-C disinfection method, since with the UV-C disinfection no mutation-conditioned resistances can develop; contrary to the chemical disinfectants.
UV-C LIGHT HAS SEVERAL ADVANTAGES OVER CONVENTIONAL METHODS TO ELIMINATE BACTERIA, GERMS AND VIRUSES.
An important advantage of this physical disinfection process is the fact that bacteria, viruses, spores, fungi, mold and mites are sensitive to UV-C radiation.
Microbes, unlike chemical disinfectants, cannot form resistance to UV rays!
UV-C irradiation is ecological and contributes contrary to chemical disinfectants, which are harmful to health, environmentally harmful and expensive, to health and environmental protection. The cost/benefit ratio is optimal, because the devices are powerful and of considerable duration. The destruction of germs by means of UV-C devices or in combination with other systems, is inexpensive and very effective.
How long does the coronavirus survive in the air
According to ETH Zurich and the Paul Scherrer Institute, the coronavirus has a survival time of 5 hours and 9 minutes in winter.
The figures are based on the calculation with the "Estimated Airborne Decay of SARS-CoV-2 (virus that causes COVID-19) at
21°C and 35% humidity, so in heated rooms in winter.
On sunny days outdoors, the survival time of the virus is shortened because the natural UV-C radiation has a disinfecting effect.
VENTILATION AND AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEMS
In air conditioning systems there is always a high risk of viruses, bacteria or other germs settling and multiplying. This is how they get into all rooms and spread throughout the building.
The UV-C emitters, which are installed in the air conditioning system, ensure sterile air in the house and in the rooms.

UV-C radiation has been successfully tested in laboratories as a method for decontaminating N95 masks exposed to MS2 bacteriophage and the influenza virus (influenza). Disposable masks can be disinfected up to 18 times.Objects that are frequently used in the health care sector must be regularly disinfected to ensure compliance with high quality hygiene standards. With the UV-BOX it is possible to disinfect equipment and instruments in a simple, immediate and safe way, without heat generation or the use of liquids and without any chemicals.
TiOx + UV-C generates photosynthesis - cleans and refreshes the air
The reduction of atmospheric pollution can be achieved with the UV-FAN devices by a natural reaction, the so-called photocatalysis. This works through a photocatalyst (TiOx®), which oxidises and then breaks down the pollutants.
The (TiOx®) is an excellent photocatalyst, which is able to reduce organic and inorganic pollutants such as VOCs, VOCs (volatile organic compounds) and NOx (nitrogen oxide), which are produced by human activities.

HANDLAMPS WITH AND WITHOUT SHADE
Using mobile hand lamps, objects such as sales counters or refrigerators can be easily disinfected.

Odour reduction and grease free with UV-C
Thanks to a combination of UV-C at 254NM and 185NM, it is possible to extend the cleaning interval for commercial kitchen fume cupboards to 5 years. Ozone (O3) splits the grease and cleans the ventilation duct. The big advantage is that the ozone (O3) converts back into oxygen (O2) within a few seconds and is therefore not dangerous.
The cost reduction of the up to 4 x per year arising cleaning costs of the exhaust air ducts, which now only occur every 4-5 years, is extreme.
Environment and material are protected. The exhaust air ducts are kept germ-free and there is no danger for kitchen staff.
